Dr. Angie Allum

Dr. Angie Allum has been with Vale Vet Clinic since graduating in 2009 from Ross University on the island of St. Kitts. She was born and raised in Burns, Oregon. She completed her undergraduate degrees in West Texas on a rodeo scholarship and then in Washington State University. Go Cougs.

Angie has a special interest in large animal medicine, specifically western performance horses and cattle but she does enjoy the variety of mixed animal practice. Angie has been very involved in 4-H and rodeo her entire life and competes in roping events when time permits. Living in a rural community and getting to spend time outdoors are why she loves Eastern Oregon. She purchased the clinic in 2010 from Dr. Boyle and has been blessed to continue running the business in Vale.

Dr. Jim Boyle

Dr. Jim Boyle is the founder of Vale Veterinary Clinic. We are privileged to have him continue practicing with us as he brings a wealth of large animal knowledge and experience to the table.

Jim was raised in Tacoma, Washington and graduated from Washington State University in 1979. He and his lovely bride Ruth have raised three children. He is an avid runner and has competed in numerous marathons and races as well as running the streets of Vale frequently. In recent years, the family has begun traveling around the country and Europe.

Dr. Boyle practices extensively on cattle at this time in his career and enjoys his friendship with clients that have become close friends over the years.

Dr. Sheree Hughes

Dr. Sheree Hughes has been with Vale Veterinary since 2006. She graduated from Iowa State University in 1981. She then moved to Bakersfield, California where with her husband they owned Olive Drive Animal Hospital. After 15 years of practice ownership, they retired to Idaho with their many horses and pets.

They enjoy the rural lifestyle. Sheree brings years of surgical and medical experience for small animal medicine including orthopedic and reproduction. She loves her clients and their pets and cares deeply for veterinary practice. Many younger doctors have been fortunate to have her guidance and teaching early in their careers.

Dr. Katrina Hartman

Dr. Katrina Hartman started at Vale Veterinary Clinic in 2013 after graduating from Washington State University. She grew up in a rural Montana where she helped wheat farm, on neighboring cattle ranches and with her dad as a mechanic.

Her undergraduate studies of Fish and Wildlife Management and Animal Science were done at Montana State University. Katrina’s main interests are equine and bovine medicine and reproduction but she is very knowledgeable in every species. Outside the clinic, Katrina and her husband (also a veterinarian) enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking and camping with their dogs and photography.

Dr. Ashley Doherty

Dr. Ashley Doherty is the newest addition to the Vale Veterinary Clinic. She graduated from Oregon State University. She has a love for traveling after doing so from a young age with her family. Her father served in the Marine Corps and traveled often. They eventually settled in Milton Freewater. Ashley grew up raising and showing sheep and judging livestock.

Her special interests include bovine and swine medicine but she loves treating anything that walks in the door. She is an avid OSU Beaver fan and enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, kayaking and camping.
